More than 200 individuals experienced illness, with symptoms of nausea and vomiting, following the consumption of 'prasad' during a religious event in Maharashtra's Buldhana. The incident occurred during the 'Harinam Saptah,' a week-long religious gathering, at Somthana village in Lonar taluka on Tuesday night. District collector Kiran Patil reported that 142 people were admitted to the rural hospital at Bibi, 20 to a facility in Lonar, and 35 to another facility in Mehkar.

While visuals online depicted affected individuals lying outside hospitals due to reported bed shortages, the collector assured that the patients' conditions were stable, and most were discharged by Wednesday. A group of doctors, equipped with an ambulance, has been stationed in the village for potential medical emergencies. Samples of the 'prasad' have been sent for analysis, and an inquiry into the incident will be initiated.

The suspected case of food poisoning arose during a religious event where over 200 villagers fell ill after consuming 'prasad.' The incident prompted hospital admissions in various facilities, with reported shortages of beds. Buldhana collector Kiran Patil confirmed the stable condition of the patients and assured ongoing medical support in the village.

Samples of the 'prasad' have been sent for analysis, and an inquiry will be conducted to determine the cause of the outbreak. Visuals online captured the aftermath, showing affected individuals outside hospitals with saline bottles hanging from nearby trees.
